Color and Weave Sampler Scarf with Debora Jarchow
Class Level:Advanced Beginner (Students with some experience can make this sampler scarf. Novice weavers also welcome and can do the same warp but only use one color in the weft.)
Description: Learn to get outstanding color pattern effects using a rigid heddle loom. Make your weaving look like complicated patterns with very little effort. If you are already familiar with the rigid heddle loom, this class will help you master more advanced techniques. If you are a new weaver, the technique is not too difficult to learn. This type of weaving is portable, easy and fun and can add variety to your fiber abilities. This workshop introduces students to color patterns on the rigid heddle loom. They will learn how to control their shuttles for smooth edges. During the day we will warp the loom and weave a sampler scarf that teaches several color patterns. Along the way, we’ll discuss various techniques for rigid heddle weaving and finishing techniques.
